A Taste of the Mill
At the heart of what Black Pool Mill does is a commitment to work with local suppliers at every possible turn. Celebrating and elevating the local and seasonal produce we find right on our doorsteps in beautiful Pembrokeshire. To celebrate our relationship with our local suppliers and the delicious food our team of chefs create with their produce, we invite you to join us for A Taste of Black Pool Mill for a day of delights down at the Mill.
On Friday, 16th August, starting at 12:00 pm and ending at 5:00 pm, we’ll be joined by some of our wonderful suppliers for a day packed with live cooking demos, entertainment, and delicious food!
We’re delighted to be joined by the team from Green Up Farm, the suppliers of the micro-herbs we use in our dishes, sharing how they create pristine, delicate ingredients packed full of flavour.
The fine folks of Velvrey Vineyard, our suppliers of tastebud tingling sparkling wine, will also be setting up stall outside Black Pool Mill, sharing the process of grape to glass.
We’ll be joined by our Food and Beverage Team’s Chief Operations Manager John Dennis, demonstrating bread kneading, plus dough stretching and throwing, showing you some of the key skills that go into making our homemade bread! You’ll be invited to get stuck in and take part, learning the skills for yourself.
Our resident historian, Simon Hancock, will be giving guided tours every hour of Black Pool Mill, giving you a taste of the rich history of the Mill, showing how the past has been lovingly restored and respected, inspiring Black Pool Mill to be the unique dining destination it is today.
Our lively entertainers will be present throughout the day, hosting the event, providing entertainment and playing games with little ones on the lawn out front of Black Pool Mill. Lawn games will also be available for families to enjoy.
Our lunch service will run as usual, however, there’ll be a number of tasty treats on offer. Resident chef Vincent DaSilva will be cooking live, serving up our popular Lamb Dhansak and Rice, with a veggie option also available. The curry will be served in eco-friendly vegware containers with wooden cutlery, so you can kick back and tuck in whilst enjoying your surroundings.
To get in that summer vibe, afternoon tea picnic boxes, designed and curated by our pastry chef, Lisa Griffiths, will be available, featuring a decadent selection of afternoon tea staples and favourites.
You’ll need something to wash down all that yummy food. Our outside bar will be open, offering a selection of cocktails and mocktails, gin, draft beer, cider and Glamorgan Ffresh Lager to keep you refreshed and in the party mood!
